HOME DANCEFLOOR GUIDELINES:
- Create a safe, supportive and private dancing space.
- Have water and warm layers available.
- Turn the phones off, the lights low and the sound up.
- Use the best speakers / headphones you have available.
- Bring your focus into your body.
Breathe, relax and arrive on your own personal dancefloor wherever you are. There will be music and there will be spoken guidance; let all this bring you into movement. Find your way to physically immerse, ride the waves and dance. - At times the guidance may need some translation. For example, if you’re dancing solo at home and we invite people in the group room to connect with other dancers. There’s various ways you can adapt: you could move with an awareness of a person you know and partner dance that way. You could dance with a chair or other piece of furniture, or a picture on the wall. Or you could play with the exploration of partnering yourself – what could that be as a dance? Or something else – get creative!
- If its right for you, it can be helpful to consciously tune in to the energy of the space from wherever you are; people listening live have reported feeling a strong connection with the group from home and that being an uplifting resource. Or, feel free to really just enjoy dancing solo without anyone else around!
- For maximum immersion, be there at the start, commit to dancing and take the whole journey until the end. Making a simple ritual opening and closing can help to go deeper, for example safely lighting a candle to begin, and extinguishing to complete.
- Please remember you are responsible for ensuring the space you are in is safe, and for tending to your own physical, psychological and spiritual well-being.
TECH NOTES:
If you lose the connection at any point, just refresh this page in your browser and click play again.
If you have technical problems and need help, please mail support@glimpsesoflight.art and we will try to help if we can. Obviously sometimes technical issues may arise that are out of our hands, for example if the internet connection at the venue goes down.
Gratitude for the magic of tech which mostly works this miracle of distance connection!
LISTENING WITH OTHERS:
If you’re listening with others, extra contributions in the magic hat are welcome: you can do that either by joining the Patreon or sending a donation via this Paypal. Thanks!
