Earthdreamers Archive

This is something a little different: I’m excited to bring the Earthdreamers archive to become part of the Library here.

These are all DJ mixes that I made, usually anonymously at the time, for dancing in conscious activist contexts. Sometimes this was on the streets for direct actions and protests; sometimes it was for ritual dances and movement ceremonies with some kind of ecological focus like guerilla tree-planting.

Shared with a prayer that we can find our way to steward the Earth better than we have in recent generations… Respect and gratitude to everyone working towards that in different ways.

These are set to Free member access because they were always intended to be used in non-profit situations. It feels right to share them as a resource for you all here and hopefully they can be of service in a variety of ways.


A little more of the story:
The Earthdreamers Collective used to gather early in the morning on the edge of financial district in London, at a place that we nicknamed Druid Plaza. We would dance a wave using headphones (this was super-early days of silent disco: we had to download the mix onto an mp3 player in advance, and all press play at once to synchronise our rhythm!)
We would bring a small tree in a pot that became the centre of a simple altar, then after the dance we would walk into the city and plant the tree in patch of green that we had identified in advance.
