Protocols for In-the-Room Events
1. Participation & Punctuality
Please make a commitment to participate in the event in full and to be present for every session.
Please be punctual: give yourself enough time to arrive at the venue and be on the dancefloor at the start time, ready to begin. Plan travel etc so you can be there for the completion and without needing to rush off.
If you find yourself unable to attend or need to leave early, for whatever reason, please let us know asap.
2. Respect & Consent
Please respect all bodies in the space, their boundaries, identities and choices, which may. be different to your own.
Practice clear consent around both contact and touch. Cultivate awareness, listen and give people space to communicate with you whether they want to connect and how. Do not assume that you know what someone else’s experience is!
Respect your own body and your boundaries, limits and choices. Cultivate your own understanding of what that means for you and how you can really embody your choices.
Please also respect the space/venue, any staff, and the practices we work with.
3. Self-Care, Self-Responsibility & Wellbeing
Please remember you are responsible for your physical, psychological and spiritual wellbeing at all times. Take care of your body, heart and mind and learn what you need in order to be well.
The facilitator(s) and support team are here to support you by holding a strong and relatively safe space where you can dance to empower and heal yourself. However, please be aware this is not therapy, specialist trauma work or medical practice. This work can be liberating and transformative, and it can also be catalytic and challenging along the way.
If processes arise for you that need extra support to metabolise after the event, we encourage you to reach out for support and to find ways to resource yourself as needed (e.g. skilled professional 1-to-1 work in a relevant and appropriate modality like psychotherapy or bodywork.)
If you have a history of physical or mental health issues, please consult an appropriate professional before participating.
4. Confidentiality
The space we co-create is confidential. Please do not share about other people’s experiences unless they have explicitly asked for you to do this.
5. Clean Space
The dancefloor and all Glimpses of Light spaces are free from drugs, alcohol, plant medicines and electronic devices. Please don’t attend if you are under the influence of anything, or bring substances into the space. Please don’t film, take photos, Shazam or use a phone or other digital device whilst in the space.
Thank you.
