The Earshot Cinema was a weekly late-night radio broadcast on Resonance FM, the London-based arts station.
The Earshot Cinema was “a dreaming auditorium designed to take you on voyages within your mind’s eye”
our radio films are mixed live, combining sonic imagery, storytelling narrative and music, to project onto the big screen of your imagination…”
Presented and produced by a character called Billy Unknown, it went out on the FM dial on Friday nights at 11pm. beaming out from the tiny Resonance studio in Soho while Central London exploded into the weekend. (don’t mention the graveyard shift??)
Each show explored a broad theme, such as Chaos, Ecstasy, +++
A couple of longer 90minute meta-documentary specials were also produced, including “A Brief History of Evolution” and “XXXXX” (first Clear Spot title..?)
(“Is everybody in…?” – Jim the usher… have a radio sample?)
