SUMMARY:Dancing in the Dark
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to gather and dance at the time of the winter Solstice to create a field of movement together\, celebrate and reach into the returning light. \nWhen we dance\, we are soulful. We embody who we really are and we shine our light into the world. In dark times\, we can move and dream into the deeper possibilities of who we are now becoming. Dancing in the darkness we touch the mystery. We remember the ancient knowledge in our bones and find another kind of vision. And we cultivate aliveness and presence for the realities of here and now. \nTEACHINGS\nWe work and play with The Way of the Dancer\, which is Christian’s synthesis of the core movement maps of 5Rhythms\, Movement Medicine and creative embodiment practices in Taoist and Animist/Shamanic ways. \nMODE\nWe dance solo\, we dance with each other\, we dance as a group. We ride the music and we inhabit the silence. There’s also time for resting and hanging out. \nSCHEDULE\nDay 1 (optional) is an evening session to arrive\, dance and connect with each other and the teachings.\nDay 2 we will go deeper into practice and the facilitated trance-dance practice of dancing in the dark.\nThen on Day 3 we hold a Solstice Dance Ceremony\, moving together in this deep dreaming time for sacred connection and living.

SUMMARY:Pulse - End of Year Special!
DESCRIPTION:VISION\nPulse is born from a desire to go deeper into the dance in a drop-in context.\nIt’s a conscious dance space rooted in focussed movement practice as a pathway to liberation. \nThe intention is also to cultivate and grow a regular space where we can connect\, journey\, and use the dance to move through whatever is arising that month: in our lives and in the wider context.\n. \nSTRUCTURE\nThe sessions usually feature a warm-up\, some teaching and a dancing journey through the Waves. There are invitations to connect with other dancers and move in the group field – along with full encouragement to be who you are in the moment. \nThese dances are open: you can come to one\, some\, or all – as you like or are able.\nAnd: there is an invitation is to participate regularly and be part of co-creating a space that holds depth\, connection and continuity in the dance. A bundle discount is offered to dancers booking all the sessions in a series at once.\n. \nMAPS\nThe teaching framework for Pulse is The Way of the Dancer\, Christian’s evolving synthesis of 5Rhythms and Movement Medicine with Taoist\, Animist and contemporary Subcultural approaches to the dancefloor and community ritual space. \nPulse is open to anyone wanting to dance: bodies are welcomed in all embodiments of ability\, shape\, gender\, ethnicity\, neuronature\, age and culture. Prior experience of conscious dance practice can be helpful but is not essential.\nIf you’re new to this kind of dancing\, please let us know on the day so we can orient you. \nAll Glimpses of Light movement spaces are supported by the Protocols of the Dance Space.
